There are moments in my walk with God when it appears like I can feel God so closely. He feels as close as the wind in my face, the clothes on my skin, shoes that hug my feet perfectly. On those days His presence feels close, it feels overwhelming, I mean, the good kind of overwhelming.

There are moments when the voice of God is always in my ear. He's speaking constantly. There are instructions here and there; go there, speak to that person, stop! There are days when before my fears appear completely, God's voice resounds in my heart, 'I am with you'.

There are moments when in spite of life's tough gbas, the joy that the Father gives appears as accurate gbos to the gbas. It is so liquidy the next person could touch it, feel it, stare in wonder as to why I would be so joyful in spite.

Those moments, those days, make my life look like a supernatural experience. Not like it isn't on other days but in those moments, I stand more convinced of the supernatural. I mean, my life looks a little like the shadow of 'Acts of the Apostles'.


There are also days when I feel nothing. I don't feel the 'presence' of God. It seems like His voice is far away. You know that cloud 9 feeling, goosebumps chilling encounters, yeah, none of them happening. I simply feel nothing.

There are days when joy seems to be far fetched and laughter is a stretch that I currently cannot afford. There are days when my lips whisper 'God is with me' but my heart finds it hard to believe because there's no wind, no clothes, no tight shoe feeling in my soul. My life may feel like a reenactment of 'Esther', only hints of God, no mention of Him.

On those days, there's the ease to believe that God isn't nearby, that the fact that I can't feel anything must be proof of some disconnect. That maybe I'm not good enough and that I haven't worked hard enough as if it was because of my works that I could 'feel' His presence.

I'm learning that that isn't the truth. I am God's child and I am His temple and that means that He dwells in me. He's no temporary resident, He has taken up home in me forever! This implies that whether I 'feel' Him or not, God is in me. God is a whole God and to reduce Him to just a feeling would be sheer ignorance.

I would love to say that I have learned completely that my life is a constant supernatural experience but the truth is that I haven't. Still, the Father is teaching my heart that this walk is not one that will be perfected by feelings, it is one that is made perfect by faith.
He is teaching me that He is still holding my hands even when it doesn't feel so.
He is teaching me that His joy is still in my heart even when my world is crashing. And maybe my world isn't crashing because He holds my world in His hands.
He is teaching me that even without the goosebumps, He still fills my heart with His love, liquid love.

So on the days when I feel Him and on the days when I feel nothing, this confidence remains, I am His temple, I am His child and He will never leave me nor forsake me.

At the begininng of the year, I decided that I wouldn't allow the enemy steal my joy. It started off quite easy, based on all the hype but after a while it became a tad difficult.
One thing that has kept me going is my dependence on God.
The joy that the Holy Spirit gives is indeed overwhelming. His peace is beyond comprehension.

I'm surprised at how fast time is flying, just like that we are in June. God has being faithful and I am sure that He will remain faithful to His word.

One word that has held me up is Jesus' words to His disciples. "..in this world you will have many tribulations but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world"

In JUNE, no matter what comes your way, BE OF GOOD CHEER.
Lemme take this minute and preach,
'Come on now, touch you neighbour and say, 'Neighbour! Be of good cheer'.
Tell three people next to you, 'Be of good cheer!!!'.
The truth is that trials will come, people will step on your toes, life will hit you hard, mess you up and things may not go as you plan but you've got to cheer up.


Now, you may ask me, 'why should I be of good cheer when life is hitting me hard?' Jesus already said that He has overcome the world. When you come to realization that the ONE living on your inside has already overcome the world, when you begin to see how much more than a conqueror you are, your perspective changes. You cheer isn't determined what going on around but from within you, from the conqueror on your inside.

Stuff may happen but we know that ALL things work together for the good of they that LOVE the LORD.

Since we are still on the growth series, one way to grow is to not just depend on your ability and your strength because they can wane but to depend on He who is stronger, the overcomer!

I just got back from 'Cell Meeting' and I'm feeling really pumped.

After attending a one year old's birthday party and singing a ton of Sunday school songs, I now have a playlist of 'children's' songs playing in my head. I kept thinking of the 'perfect' introduction for this week's piece but all I got was a Sunday school song.

I probably stayed too long in Children's church. Haha
Well, since we are treating the theme GROWTH, I decided to write on growing spiritually first. 'Growing spiritually' kinda sounds weird in my ears, I prefer to refer to it as growing in your relationship with God.

Firstly, if we are going to talk about growing a relationship with God, it only means that you have a one with Him. Just in the case that you don't have one, you can start one, better put, you can respond to His request. (that just sounds cheesy).
The christian walk, is one that is based on relationship with God.

Sometimes, as Christians we make it look vague, abstract, like God is just some guy in a far away land, the 'guy' upstairs, but the truth is that He is right next to you, His Spirit is within you.
Growing a relationship with God is just like growing a relationship with anyone else.

One of the basic truths about growing a relationship is that you have to be INTENTIONAL about it. It takes your conscious effort, your dedication to make the relationship work.

Your being intentional about this relationship is what moves you to devote time to the study of the word and prayer.
Understand that studying the word gives you insight into who God is, you see His character, His ways, His power. It also begins to reveal to you who you are, who you can be and then a transformation begins from your inside out, there's the renewing of your mind and a metamorphosis into the person, God designed you to be.

Prayer is simply communication with God. God isn't just interested in the big things that concern you, He is also interested in the seemingly small details of your life.
Some people have the idea that prayer is just you saying a truck load of words to God but that isn't entirely true. It also involves the act of staying still and listening to Him. He doesn't just want to hear you speak, He wants to speak to you too.

I have come to learn that prayer isn't something that should be reserved for a specific time; maybe just when you wake up. It is a conversation with God that should be kept all day long. Living with the consciousness of God's presence leads to our constant conversation with Him.
Do not be deceived and think, oh no, God will only speak to my Pastor, He will speak to you too. All you have to do is listen for His voice.

The christian life is one that is of faith. It is by faith that we receive salvation and it is by faith that we live. Every step that you take should be one that should be guarded and strengthened by faith.
"..for without faith, it is impossible to please God.."

God loves you and He desires that you grow deeper in the revelation of who He is. He is not far fetched, He is waiting on you to take that step and walk close to Him.

"God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform"

"I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for." Jeremiah 29:11 

It was 2 am and as usual, I was asleep but that was right up till something felt different. There was a wind just in my room and the wind seemed to have a voice, it was talking to me.
I could clearly hear it speak to me and I was sure beyond a shadow of doubt that it was God confirming His word to me.

I just made that up but I'm pretty sure that we all want our walk with God to be real dramatic. We love the signs so much that well, if we're honest with ourselves, we'll admit that we get jealous of the Israelites. I mean its just a little jealousy. What am I saying? Christians are not allowed to be jealous so we use words like, 'I desire the kind of walk they had with God. We want the fire, the wind, the earthquake, the thunder, the lightning, and when the enemy is not letting us go, He could just kill their firstborn son.

The truth is that there is really nothing wrong with signs or symbols, even Jesus said "...There will be BIG signs in the sky." Luke 21:11
However, one thing that is essential for our walk with God is FAITH. Faith according to Hebrews 11:1 is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Yeah evidence of things not seen. We, too often, want to see things with our physical eyes, sense with our human senses and you know just be VEERRY sure that it's God. Hmmm!
But we often let go of the truth that without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God.



In the christian walk, there'll be times that God will give us specific instructions and sometimes, there'll not be the very big signs that we expect God to put up. Well then how do I know that it's God leading??

• Is it in line with scriptures?

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.                                                                                                                                           Philippians 4:8 NIV  

"The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Saviour God wants us to live"

1 Timothy 2:1-3 Msg

Matthew 6:10
"..thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven"

 If you've been in a church for a while, you should be at least familiar with 'The Lord's Prayer'. Sometimes, I think that we've said these words so often that we've lot sight of what exactly they mean and the heart behind them.


One line that always gets my attention in the Lord's prayer is "thy will be done". When we say "God, let your will be done", do we really mean it or are we telling God to do what we want. The truth is that we have our own thoughts towards the things that concern us, we have our own desires and there's that picture we have in our head of how we expect everything to turn out. The heartbreaking part is that for everything that we think we know, we only know in part, we only see in part. That means that our mental pictures are created from partial details.

There is somebody however that knows it all, He knows the end from the beginning and He is God. It only makes sense to allow Him lead and direct the course.


When we pray, '..thy will be done', it's a prayer of surrender; total surrender. We tell God, You have your way. We tell God that we trust Him enough to direct the course of our lives.
Until we get to the place of total surrender where we stop struggling with God and just allow Him direct the course of events, we will always run into danger.

Genesis13:7-117 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

Lot chose the plain of Jordan because it looked nice, it seemed to him like the best decision at that time. How many times have we often acted like Lot, making decisions on just the face value of things. Just because they look nice, feel, smell, sound or taste nice doesn't mean in general that they are nice.
Our thoughts can get clouded by things that are not substantial and we can make wrong decisions but when we get to the place where we don't just make decisions by what we see but by the leading of God, we would see that our lives will turn out for the best.

We think that we love ourselves but the love that God has for us is much more than what we have for ourselves. It's only wise to allow Him take the lead, make the decisions and channel the course for our lives.
Let's get to the place of surrender where we actually mean Lord "...THY WILL BE  DONE"

Just yesterday, I had just written a couple of articles. My week was planned and then I found myself thinking, 'what do I do next week?' What!! It was  just Sunday!!! Within, I felt the Holy Spirit nudge me and say me, 'trust me, one step at a time'


God will always keep His word. If He said it, He'll do it. We can get so caught up with trying to live and make sure that everything is in order that sometimes, we lose ourselves. Sometimes our eyes just get off Jesus and our minds are clouded by decisions that we forget whom and whose we are.

This week I just want us to remember that God is watching over us and even when we don't see the whole ladder, we can trust Him enough to take the first step with Him.

Matthew 6:28-30

"Why worry about clothes? Look how the wild flowers grow. They don't work hard to make their clothes. But I tell you that Solomon with all his wealth wasn't as well clothed as one of them. God gives such beauty to everything that grows in the fields, even though it is here today and thrown into a fire tomorrow. He will surely do even more for you! Why do you have such little faith?"

We live in a time and age where people are less concerned about the source of where things come from. They'll rather just sit and enjoy a load of blessing and wouldn't care about who gives them. Most people don't really care how you get stuff, it's only important that you have possessions of some sort.
Many churches teach that when the praises go up, the blessings come down. Yeah!! Indirectly many minds have been shaped to only praise when blessings are desired which is not supposed to be. The more hurting part is that when we eventually get the blessings that we so praised God for, our hearts are turned from God and we do not acknowledge His sovereignty. We begin to think that the things that we have acquired is because of our strength.
Our focus instead of constantly remaining of God, shutters between being on ourselves and on the blessings that we have.

Matthew 2:2

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod,Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

Now it is stunning how the wise men were able to recognize the star but the even more amazing part is that they take a step further and look for the new born King. Very often we see the star but we 'don't have time' to search for the King. We see His works but we could care less about Him personally.
We gain from the light that He bestows on us but we are not willing to look for Him to worship Him with our lives. We live our lives so focused on the blessings that we have been given so much that we eventually begin to worship them. We reduce ourselves to the level of worshiping the things that are supposed to be additions. We abandon the King, and worship His provisions.


Let's check ourselves, and what exactly we are worshiping.
Our primary essence of existence is to worship God, let that be a check for all of our thoughts and actions.

Let's take a trip down to the past
Not to 2 years back
Not even 20 years ago
But to over 2000 years ago.
Back then at Calvary
Or you may call it Golgotha
A place where blood flowed
Along with pure water.
The place of shame
From which we get our glory,
Where Jesus was slain
It's more than just a story.
Look upon that cross
Not the one on your chain,
But upon that on which Christ was slain
His battered body bleeding
He was bruised for our iniquity.
He righteous was made sin
That we may be free.
Don't tell me it was the nails
That held Him there
He could have called on angels
If we weren't dear.

The past was for now
It wasn't just a show
We have been reinstated to the place where we now glow.
We are seated up above
In heavenly places
Now we have authority
In Jesus' Name.

The past was for now
He is now our how.
We do not have to worry
About tomorrow's burdens
'Cause we have learnt to trust Him
And stand upon His word
He has been our Father
And He'll take us further.

The past was for now
To strengthen us
To become co-labourers
With God on earth.

And so in this present time
We storm the world
Not an ounce ignorant of who we truly are.
We reap souls for Heaven
Even witches in covens
With signs and wonders following
In our path of glory.
We take the lead and others follow
We blaze the trails where God's name is hallowed.

Yes! In this present time
God lives in earth
Not in buildings made by hands
But in renewed men
Confirming His word
With His visible presence.

In this present time
We wave the banner of love
For it was love that held Jesus to the cross
We now  give love unrestrained
Because love is shed in our hearts.

Don't just dwell in the past
For the past was made
That the now may be referred to the past
And have authority in the present.
We live now
And now is the time
To mend the broken-hearted
To set the captives free
To declare liberty to the oppressed
To preach the good news to the poor
And YOU are God's messenger on earth
In This Present Time.

Hi guys! Happy Sunday! I really do love Sundays especially because of the fact that I get to worship with fellow believers.
There's this one thing among Christians that has caught my attention over time. Now I love how people or better put, Christians hallow Sundays but one thing that disturbs me is how they don't care every other day. I understand that one of the ten commandments is:

"...remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy". Exodus 20:8

 But too often our problems is that we just stop at the surface level, we tend to live as Christians just on Sundays. Truth be told, most of us are only Christians for two hours on Sunday and then on the days when the pastor preaches a 'good' sermon, we are Christians the whole day.

Jesus gave a command to go into the world to preach the gospel. Gospel simply means good news. Jesus lived His life doing good, doing the will of the Father. The scriptures described Jesus as doing good everywhere He went. He represented God not only on Sundays, not only in the tabernacle, not only the gathering of the brethren, but everywhere that He was.
The early believers were called Christians because of their lifestyle. They emulated Christ in their lifestyle that people around could testify to the fact that they had been with Jesus.
What does your life speak forth? Who are you imitating? Whose image does your life portray? We have been bought with a price, our life actually doesn't belong to us anymore. It's high time we embraced the fact that God left us here as ambassadors and no, we do not have day offs, we do not take breaks or go on vacations from our duty posts, we are meant to show forth Christ everyday.

"So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life- your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life- and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him. Don't become so well adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike that culture around you, always dragging you down to it's level of immaturity, God brings out well formed maturity in you."

Romans 12:1-2 MSG

I believe that God wants more from us than a two hour commitment. He wants a real relationship not just a 'fling'. For too long have we lived with the mindset that just Sundays are to be hallowed and that we are only supposed to live the christian life on Sunday.What God wants is people who are willing to represent Him everyday and everywhere.
Make a choice today to be a christian beyond Sunday. Rep Christ everyday!!

I do not dispute the fact that they hurt you,

Not just your spirit and soul but even your body too.

Hopes shattered, dreams disappeared.
Right before your eyes,

Crumbled and now lay lifeless.

Thinking of quitting?
Wait a minute!
It's not over!!

And no, I don't mean that in a good way.
I mean like your story is all misery.
Still, it's not over.

You are royalty!
I know you may find it hard to believe.
At least at this very moment.
A while ago that may have brought you relief,
But right now it has no effect.

Silence your fears and defeat
Mount up your stand one more time
If you want it, you would get it
If you want it, you would get it.

Just rely on Him who's greater,
He knows the very path for you.
Trust me, you would come out better.
Just don't give up.
It's not OVER!!!
