WAIT!
Before you pull the trigger of the gun pointed to your head,
Before you let your foot slip off and the rope kisses your neck,

Feel the air rush through your nostrils
And feel it as it fills your lungs

I know that life can really be unfair.
It just beats you, breaks you, crushes you
And pushes you to the wall.
Life itself is a mystery
But sometimes it get worse.
'Cause it wounds you in its tangles and it makes you feel lost.

Light slowly disperses to darkness
On the days that you find luck.
But on every other day,
Light is nothing more than a wish.

The heavy droplets of your sweat
That fight their way through your pores
Makes you feel like
Even your body is fiercely at war with you.

Nothing matters! Nobody cares!
All I do is stand and stare
I'm standing in the rush crowd
But I've never felt this alone.

Purpose? Forget about it
Joy? Its only a mirage
Love? That's just a word that gives people false hope.
Peace? Well, I can't wait to 'Rest In Peace'.

I know this is how it seems
Emptiness and hurt all around
The truth is I can't claim to understand
Or say that I feel your pain.

But I have a friend who almost took His life
He almost quit His purpose because He felt too much pain
Abandoned by His "loving" Father
His 'friends' turned their backs on Him

He hid Himself, fell to His knees
Screamed at the top of His voice and called on His Father.
But all He could let out was whispers
Because all His strength had gone out of Him

He cried heavily
Sweated profusely
Looked at His life hopelessly
But! He made it through.
He fulfilled purpose.

So, if you tell me, I may not understand it
I may not get the loneliness that you feel
And the emptiness that surrounds you
But trust me, my friend does
His name is Jesus and He cares.

So before you lose all hope
And before you quit living, forget about purpose
And choose death.
Just talk to my friend Jesus
And He will surely send you help.

Let's take a trip down to the past
Not to 2 years back
Not even 20 years ago
But to over 2000 years ago.
Back then at Calvary
Or you may call it Golgotha
A place where blood flowed
Along with pure water.
The place of shame
From which we get our glory,
Where Jesus was slain
It's more than just a story.
Look upon that cross
Not the one on your chain,
But upon that on which Christ was slain
His battered body bleeding
He was bruised for our iniquity.
He righteous was made sin
That we may be free.
Don't tell me it was the nails
That held Him there
He could have called on angels
If we weren't dear.

The past was for now
It wasn't just a show
We have been reinstated to the place where we now glow.
We are seated up above
In heavenly places
Now we have authority
In Jesus' Name.

The past was for now
He is now our how.
We do not have to worry
About tomorrow's burdens
'Cause we have learnt to trust Him
And stand upon His word
He has been our Father
And He'll take us further.

The past was for now
To strengthen us
To become co-labourers
With God on earth.

And so in this present time
We storm the world
Not an ounce ignorant of who we truly are.
We reap souls for Heaven
Even witches in covens
With signs and wonders following
In our path of glory.
We take the lead and others follow
We blaze the trails where God's name is hallowed.

Yes! In this present time
God lives in earth
Not in buildings made by hands
But in renewed men
Confirming His word
With His visible presence.

In this present time
We wave the banner of love
For it was love that held Jesus to the cross
We now  give love unrestrained
Because love is shed in our hearts.

Don't just dwell in the past
For the past was made
That the now may be referred to the past
And have authority in the present.
We live now
And now is the time
To mend the broken-hearted
To set the captives free
To declare liberty to the oppressed
To preach the good news to the poor
And YOU are God's messenger on earth
In This Present Time.

Hi guys! Happy Sunday! I really do love Sundays especially because of the fact that I get to worship with fellow believers.
There's this one thing among Christians that has caught my attention over time. Now I love how people or better put, Christians hallow Sundays but one thing that disturbs me is how they don't care every other day. I understand that one of the ten commandments is:

"...remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy". Exodus 20:8

 But too often our problems is that we just stop at the surface level, we tend to live as Christians just on Sundays. Truth be told, most of us are only Christians for two hours on Sunday and then on the days when the pastor preaches a 'good' sermon, we are Christians the whole day.

Jesus gave a command to go into the world to preach the gospel. Gospel simply means good news. Jesus lived His life doing good, doing the will of the Father. The scriptures described Jesus as doing good everywhere He went. He represented God not only on Sundays, not only in the tabernacle, not only the gathering of the brethren, but everywhere that He was.
The early believers were called Christians because of their lifestyle. They emulated Christ in their lifestyle that people around could testify to the fact that they had been with Jesus.
What does your life speak forth? Who are you imitating? Whose image does your life portray? We have been bought with a price, our life actually doesn't belong to us anymore. It's high time we embraced the fact that God left us here as ambassadors and no, we do not have day offs, we do not take breaks or go on vacations from our duty posts, we are meant to show forth Christ everyday.

"So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life- your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life- and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him. Don't become so well adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike that culture around you, always dragging you down to it's level of immaturity, God brings out well formed maturity in you."

Romans 12:1-2 MSG

I believe that God wants more from us than a two hour commitment. He wants a real relationship not just a 'fling'. For too long have we lived with the mindset that just Sundays are to be hallowed and that we are only supposed to live the christian life on Sunday.What God wants is people who are willing to represent Him everyday and everywhere.
Make a choice today to be a christian beyond Sunday. Rep Christ everyday!!

Hey everyone! I feel quite excited writing this piece. I'm finally through with this semester . Yay! I hope to do a lot more of writing and I hope you gain something from this piece.
I'll start by asking a question. 'Do you consider yourself the best? Like, in your class, among your peers and people you hang around, do you see yourself as the the best?. The issue we are about to touch will relate to this question but it's much more than that. Even if you top your class or you think that you are the best among your peers in all areas, are you the best YOU?
It is a fact that you are the only you in the world and the whole of creation is waiting for you to manifest. Wow! Sounds too good to be true? Now you may ask, 'who am I that the world would wait for my manifestation?' You are the carrier of God's nature, God's Spirit and in fact, God made you specially for your world!
Now that it is an established fact that the world awaits you, how then do you become who you were meant to be? How do you reach the heights God planned for you?

• DISCOVER you. This is the very first step that you must take because until you discover who you are and what you possess, you'll live a lower class of life than you're supposed to and you're wallow in self pity for nothing. Now, don't look at your dysfunctions and major on the negatives, because there's greatness on your inside. You may need to ask yourself questions that will help you think. Questions like; What are you good at? What problems can you solve? What do you enjoy doing? Even when you think like you've figured out who you are and that you completely understand yourself, that most probably is not true. This is because by thinking alone, we cannot figure out who we are because we didn't create ourselves. The manufacturer knows the best about his product.God formed us with His own hands and placed the different gifts and talents in us, so He knows us much more than we think we know ourselves. So, if we must discover the totality if who we are, we must surrender all to the will of God and allow Him lead us in the path that is best for us.

• After discovering who you are, it's a total waste if you just remain that way. It is wisdom that you begin to DEVELOP your skills. Dedicate yourself to getting the best out of your gifts. You must be willing to subject  yourself to teachings and be humble enough to learn so that you can be better in that your field. Now when gold is discovered, in it's original form it is not so attractive so it must go through the refining process. It's the same with skills, you must refine them and  get better.

• Then you must begin to DISPLAY these gifts. We have not been given lights so that we would hide them  but that we would show forth good works and that our lives would glorify God. Matthew 5:16. Now do not limit yourself because of the people around you. Don't begin to think mediocrity because you are seemingly better than the people around you. Dig deep, reach down and display those giftings on your inside.

One thing that you must guard against is jealousy. Don't get jealous that someone can do something that you can't do. We aren't all designed the same way. Don't feel bad if you don't top your class at the end of the semester. Now I'm not saying that you should slack and stop attending classes or stop trying to learn. That's not the point. You should instead strive to be better, set reasonable goals and achieve them.

God made you specially and you are not a mistake so strive to be better, not better than your peers but better than who you were yesterday.

Evil communications corrupt good manners
I think I heard this phrase about a zillion times as I grew
From home to church and even in school
The truth is that I tried my best to be careful about the company I kept
I stuck with the "good" kids.
Those one who never fought nor stole
I mean that was the best I knew.


But I'm all grown now
And is pretty difficult to tell
I'm trying my best to be a good kid
Errrrrrm, I don't think I should say kid, maybe girl
I'm hanging out with those who are called "good" but really I want to be cool
In areas I stood out, I just painted myself to blend in
Oh please, I didn't want too much attention
I just wanted to be part of the squad.


Then!! Boom like a blast
Without my consent I discovered something different growing on my inside
It was some sort of cancer
The changing was much more than superficial
It was no longer beneficial.
Now I'm hurting.

Anyone ever found themselves in such a place?
When you bring the illness on yourself?
The more painful part is that since we become ashamed
We choose to hide like Adam and Eve
We try to perform our own surgeries
Forceps, scissors, incisions too deep
Now we're bleeding much more than we thought
Slowed down breathing, heart rate flat lining
Now I'm scared, could I be dying?


I thought this was the was the easy way around
The paths seem to be taking too long
I just couldn't wait for the doctor anymore
I thought I had learnt enough
And soon enough like Saul we come up with excuses like
I wanted to make a sacrifice to the Lord
Oh really?
What He wants is living sacrifices not dead ones
The ones with sweet smelling savour
Not those that are covered with stench!


And just STOP!
Stop trying to clean up yourself because you can't
All you do is introduce pathogens
And now there's an infection
At the site of the incision.
Oh my it's spreading faster than I thought!
Exactly what did you think?
Just stop trying to clean up your mess
Because you don't even know what clean is
Allow Him who is perfection
Permeate you and make you His reflection
You are His creation
His art work expression
He knows exactly  what you're supposed to be
So allow Him direct the paths of your life.

An insecurity is something that one is uncertain or anxious about. It is a state where one lacks confidence. Although we may never admit to it, a great percentage of the world's population is insecure about something in their life. It even gets worse with young people and personally, I think there are more insecure ladies out there.

"The wealthiest places in the world are not gold mines, oil fields, diamond mines or banks. The wealthiest place is the cemetery. There lies companies that were never started, masterpieces that were never painted… In the cemetery there is buried the greatest treasure of untapped potential. There is a treasure within you that must come out. Don’t go to the grave with your treasure still within YOU." - Myles Munroe

A whole lot of the wealth and treasures of this life lies in the grave and can never be tapped anymore. This happens most of the time because the persons involved were either scared of how the world would see them or were uncertain about how precious those treasures were.
If we live with all of our treasures sealed up inside and not reveal them to the world, we would be depriving a lot of people of stuff that they are supposed to get from us.
Here are a couple of steps that would help you in dealing with whatever makes you insecure.

• ACCEPT the fact that you are insecure. It is no hidden fact that accepting the reality of the existence of a problem is a great step in solving it. One of the issues with people that have insecurities is that they often try to ignore it or hide from it. We have the wrong notion that if we ignore something it will automatically disappear but that is not true. In fact, in more ways than not, the things that we try to ignore and shut our eyes from negatively affect our choices and our attitude to every other thing that is seemingly good in our live. We find ourselves operating at a lower level than we ought to because we have not really dealt with the things that are pulling us down. Now in accepting the fact that you are insecure, it is important that it is done with the right attitude. The reason for accepting the insecurities is not so that you can sulk about them and withdraw into your closet but so that you can muster enough courage to face and deal with them.

• DISCOVER who or what is making you insecure. People get insecure over different things and for different reasons and if you must correctly deal with the issues, you must first find out the reasons behind them, the cause. Some people are insecure about how they look, others get insecure about not being good enough in their display of talents or skills. Very often, the source of our insecurity is our very self. Everyone kind of has these small pep talks with themselves and whatever you say to yourself, you believe. Some people have been able to convince themselves over time that they are not good enough, that they do not deserve the best but that is absolutely not true. Some people on the other hand have grown insecure because if what people have repeatedly told them. To kill the fire of insecurities, you must find out the source from where it's been fueled.

• SHUT OUT the negativity. You need to actively silence the voice of anything or anyone that is not positively impacting your life. You have to realize that life is too short to dwell on the things that are negative. It honestly takes a lot of energy and will power to neutralize the effect of the things that are negative so its a whole lot better to close the channel of negative influence. The things that you listen to have a way of affecting your though pattern and your thoughts affect your actions. Choose to listen to the right things only. Now you may have to let go of some 'friends' but it's also important that you have people in your life who will help you see the best in you.

• STEP UP to higher grounds. Now that we have closed the door of negativity, it's time to step up and do the things you were too scared to do. Maybe you had issues with your physique, it's time to look at yourself and see the beauty in your eyes. Embrace your personality, walk up tall and live the life that God wants you to live.
