To blog or not to blog

I have been making a couple of decisions lately and the truth is that decision making isn't my strong point at the moment. It is one of those muscles that I have just started using.

First off, let me apologize for being MIA for over a week. I have a legit reason for not blogging last week, I was at a 'school'. This week, on the other hand, has just been quite a struggle with a measure of laziness.

I laid in my bed with the my whole blog post in my head yet it was extremely difficult to translate them via my fingers. Going back and forth in my head, 'I should probably just take another week off', 'I can write this later', 'Let's just sleep'.

The thing is that this blog is mine and my decision to either write something or nah makes little or no difference. I could decide to quit blogging at any time, really. However, my decision to blog is mostly to discipline me.

It's easy to just quit when no one is looking. However, if you are only faithful when everyone else is watching. It is no more than eye-service and your faithfulness isn't faithfulness at all.

So, it may be quite difficult to keep up as the holidays are coming to an end, yet I hope to be faithful to myself, to you and to be the best I can.

Fear not 'NO'

Hey lovelies!! Hope you had a fun weekend and took out time to relax?
I have been up to a couple of things. I am currently working on a 'project'. The thing about this project is that I have to work with people, I have start up conversations with some people I've never spoken to, though, we know each other.

I am the kind of person who prefers working on my own and being in my own space. One of the reasons why I am often skeptical about working with people or better put, asking people to work with me, is that I am scared that they'll say NO.

'NO' hits me on a deep level, it kind of crushes my soul and it often takes me quite a while to recover.
However, on this project, I have stepped out of my comfort and just walked up to people and I have gotten way more YESes than NOs .
Imagine that out of my fear for NO, I never stepped out and never talked to anyone, think of all the YESes that I would never have received.

What is the step that you always wanted to take?
Who is that person that you've always wanted to talk to?
This week, I'm challenging you to take that step and DO IT AFRAID. You may get a negative response, you may also get a positive response, in the end, you'd be satisfied that you'd done it.

Do not, for the fear of people's responses, never get to take that step.

Whollup!!

Hey Lovelies!!

How did your week go? I thought it would be a nice idea to spend my week with a one-year old but dear Lord!! I think I've finally gotten a hang of how to fake cry. In fact, we are writing this together, hehehe, I'm feeling like a BOSS LADY.

This week's Fab links were all interesting reads for me.

First off, I saw this post by +Dr Bien Sufficient on Pastor +Sunday Adelaja's blog and the title was what drew me in. "A Woman Has No Vision But The Vision Of Her Husband". Well, you have to read it to get the point.

The second post is a word of encouragement by one of the members of +getting connected crew: "Take a step"

If you know me well enough you know that I am obsessed with Melody and I loved this her post: "10 Dear Daughter Posts for the Week"

Learn

Wisdom Wednesday || Sit at their feet

A wise person once said, "Experience is the best teacher."
Before all the people who have jumped on the bandwagon of 'experience is not the best teacher' eat me raw, let me quickly vindicate myself.

Definition: Experience is practical contact with and an observation of facts.

Experience can often be classified as first-hand, second-hand or even third-hand. :D
Although first-hand experience leaves the most remarkable impressions, the other forms of experience are excellent teachers. Someone once correctly stated that you can get experience from:

The stuff that happens to you
The stuff you see happen to someone else
The stuff you heard happened to someone else

These situations put you in contact with the things that happen and present you with facts that can be observed.

The issue most times is that we are not keen to listen to or study the facts and situation that happen to others. We want to by ourselves have first-hand experience.

However, to get ahead in life, you have to be a learner. I already wrote about that HERE.

There's so much about life that you do not know and there are people who already know these things. It takes humility to be willing to sit at their feet and learn. Too often we let our ego get the best out of us and hinder us from learning the things we could.

Maybe they are younger than you, your mate or even older than yourself. Just know at the very fore front of your mind that learners are leaders and leaders are humble enough to learn.

So who is it that you need to go meet for clarity, be humble enough to approach them and learn.

I want you and your family dead

I'm not even exaggerating, this has to be the 30th time I sneezing this evening in a row. Here I am sitting with eyes blood red, tears stream down my cheek as if to cool down my body's temperature but that doesn't seem to be working effectively.

I was on my own, about to enter my room when my enemies decided that it was time to wake up and start running about. I would take it if it was just one or two or even a couple of them but no, it seemed like the whole community had found their way into my room. They had come with their children and distant relatives.

So, I armed myself with a weapon I knew was too weak to fight them. In previous encounters, this weapon has proven itself futile but what could I do, my usually weapon was out of stock so I decided to go for the one that was readily available since it was about 9:30 and I was just not even thinking about going out.

Spray after spray after spray after spray, yet these infidels were not dying. You would think that at this point, I would retreat and surrender but no, accept defeat? No way! I focused my powers on getting the best out of these ones, killing their entire generation. I stepped into their barracks, went past their defenses so that I could have direct impact.

Well, I could only kill a handful. I, on the other hand, have almost sneezed my internal organs out. My eyes are itching from all of the chemicals that were mixed to form this insecticide.
I knew quite well that these allergies were going to start acting up but all I wanted to be was the BAWSE, the winner.

The sneezes had rounded up to about 50 by the time I have finally analyzed my situation. As I sit on my chair and stare at these tiny roaches running about, I decide that it's way past time for us to have 'the talk'.
We need to sign a treaty.

Don't give up

Bare Heart

Hi lovelies! It's Monday Motivation and the whole concept is that I want to be able to share something with you that would kick start your week; just some sort of boost.

However, I see myself as unqualified to motivate anyone. The thought of quitting has crossed my heart more often recently. I've often found myself searching for the restart button in my life.
Let's just go back to the beginning, make different choices, take a different path, study a different course, be a different person.
Or maybe not that far back, maybe I'll just not put myself out there.
The thoughts of quitting gently crept in and slowly built tabernacles in my mind.

I have wanted to stop writing both on this blog and on Facebook. There are several other things that I have considered quitting that are just too personal to mention.

However, in the midst of these inner turmoils, I'm still able to sail through life because one thing that I have come to learn is that all things are working together for my good to bring me to an expected end.
Just when I think that there's nothing much I could say that would probably make a difference, I find someone write me out of the blues about how a post was helpful.

These little things, the smiles, the satisfaction and the big things, God, purpose, passion, keep me going.
So to you who may be thinking of quitting, don't!
You may not see it at the moment but you are sowing seeds, in due time, you will reap a harvest.
Work with passion this week, decide to get the best out of life.
You are indeed loved!

Life

An Unforgettable night

Slowly I began to wake up. The door was creaking and I could hear footsteps like someone was trying really hard to walk gently. As I reached out my hand to turn on my bedside lamp, I felt someone grab my hand. In that split second as I was about to scream, someone else gagged me. I didn't understand what exactly was going on, I tried screaming but it felt like a waste of energy. I wanted to cry but I was too weak.

My eyelids flipped open like window blinds, I quickly wrapped myself up in a pose. My clothes were all over the floor. I attempted to grab them but my hands were tied behind me and I was in pain. My underwear lay on the other side of the room and all I was wearing was shame.

I could feel it, I had been raped.
The room looked familiar, I was having some sort of temporary amnesia and all I could remember was bits and pieces from yesterday.
I had travelled to visit my big cousins since their parents were not around. I agreed with my mom that we would have my birthday party in their house. I remember arriving quite late and I remember eating but I don't remember walking to the room or lying on the bed or...

Did they drug me?

Wisdom Wednesday || Stay on your lane

If I had my way, I would be a medical doctor, writer, singer, comedienne, who also is also an artist, actress, dancer, primary school teacher, TV show host, and is also a minister, CEO, hairstylist, fashion designer and did I add model, speaker, photographer, web designer, etc, all at the same time and in professional capacity.

There's a lot of beautiful and interesting things that one can combine and work at effectively in the today's world but in all, there's only so much one can do.
If you're like me, you're easily carried off by what someone else is doing, what they are good at, have invested their life in, and is producing results for them.
I often have to literally shout to myself FOCUS!!!

The first line of one of my primary school poems is ' be yourself, you can't be anyone else'

When we begin to 'copy' other people's strengths and gifts, we lose our individuality, our uniqueness.
There's this recent craze of everyone wanting to hop into comedy, bet why!!
Then there was the period when everyone wanted to sing. Ah AH

We will not all make it big via writing, comedy, singing, and the likes. You are unique and until you understand that and then begin to tap into your unique resources, you'll just be a cheap photocopy of someone else.
Focus on your gifts, talents, skills, abilities no matter how small they may look. Don't look down on yourself because you don't look like everyone else.

When you don't stay on your lane, accidents happen.

The decision to go through life on someone else's lane is the decision to self destruct. You were created to fulfill a certain purpose and to influence in a particular sphere of life. Find it, work on it and excel in it.

Find your lane, stay on it.

Just like that we're in the 8th month of 2016 already. I'm overly excited!!!!

It's more like mixed emotions because September is just around the corner, so it's school prep period. It also means that my birthday is nearby already. Yassss!!

This is year is running so make sure you are running along with it. Make your days count.
By the way, I am working on some little special sumt'n for you guys. Can you guess??
