Today I don't feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like picking up my phone
So leave a message at the tone
'Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything.
So it's summer. School's on break and there's practically not so much pressure to do anything. If you're like me, you probably had a list of things that you want to achieve by the end of the holidays but errmmm no rush about it; there's still time. There're often excuses like:

...just one more episode.
..i promise I'll start tomorrow..
..i'll definitely wake up early..
..10 am is too early, I have all day!..
...i still have one month left..
..i can always do this..

Summer holidays can be fun and amazing. It's really great to have time for yourself and have some extra sleep hours. One of the greatest disadvantages though, is that it fuels your laziness. The lack of pressure from the outside world just kind of gives you leverage to just sit still and do nothing.
Unless you have a strong will and self discipline of some sort, there is a very great probability that you would spend 2-3 months of your life sleeping.

Most times we don't want to accept that we are being lazy or unproductive, we paint it with words like I'm tired or I just need a little more sleep. I know that there are honestly days when you need to take out time to rest and just relax and that there are days when you get so overwhelmed by the amount of job you have to do that you just break down but sometimes we overstretch the rest and we give ourselves a pass to be lazy.
Laziness can and does reduce your efficiency and your level of productivity.

Some tips to overcoming laziness:

Get out of bed:

Yeah, like for real leave your bed. I know how enticing it feels to just 30 minutes more of sleep and how difficult it is for you to leave the comfort and safety of your bed but the truth is that if you're going to get anything done, you have to get out of bed; especially if you are dealing with laziness of some sort.
Don't hit the snooze button or get an extra blanket and don't even try the self deceit of "I'll work on my bed" because it often steals more time from you.

Set realistic goals:

Now you're out of bed, what next? Set goals! Have a plan of what you want to achieve. The reason most people lazy around in the summer is because they have nothing to do. We have so built our lives around school that outside of that, there's nothing else to invest ourselves in.
Get a project and please make it realistic because setting goals that are far-fetched won't help your situation. If anything, they'll make it worse because they'll overwhelm your mind and then you'll lose motivation to do it because you're scared.

Create plans:

After determining your goals, it's important that you create strategic steps on how you wish to achieve your ultimate goal. Break it down in bits and pieces and applaud yourself for completing a step just don't dwell there. Keep your eyes on the goal. It's important to make sure that each of your steps are TIME sensitive. It'll help you understand that there's time for everything and that time is limited.

Find Motivation:

This is such an important point because if you lack motivation, you'll gradually slip back to the point where you first begun and it could even be worse. Find people or a situation that'll motivate you to do the things and achieve the goal that you wish.
Motivate yourself to achieve more and don't lose sight of your goal.

Laziness is not a virtue in any way. It might have crept in subtly but you must consciously work against it. Don't just allow life pass by you, do something with your life!
Proverbs 6:9-11 The Message
"So how long are you going to laze around doing nothing?
How long before you get out of bed?
A nap here, a nap there, a day off here, a day off there,
sit back, take it easy—do you know what comes next?
Just this: You can look forward to a dirt-poor life,
    poverty your permanent houseguest! "
