Hello, happy December!!  Amazing how fast time flies. It seems like just yesterday when we said happy new year and it's December already.
So, what did you achieve this year? How much did you grow this year? Let's take stock of what happened with you for the last 11 months. So you set goals at the beginning of the year, did you achieve them? How much progress did you make? How much better are you? Where were you at the beginning of the year and where are you now? How much impact did you make? How effective where you with  handling your day?
It's very important that we continually examine how well we are doing. We have been taught to set goals but it seems like we have ignored the examination. It's the examination the shows how far we have gone, it shows how efficient we have been within a given period.
It's necessary that we are progressively improving but we can only improve on what we know. We must have a knowledge of who we are, how far we've gone, where we need to get to and how much more we need to go.
Schools usually have examinations and tests and you have to pass well before you can be promoted to the next class. It's about same with life, you cannot move to your next level in life if you're not able to pass the exams on your present level, so though time passes, you're still on the same level, you're still at the same point. Exams are to see how much we have learnt, how much we have improved. We should examine ourselves and honestly rate ourselves if we are going to improve.

Its easy for one to be carried away by the passing of time, its easy to have the illusion that you're busy with life but being busy is not the deal, its being productive that's important. We could be busy with things all year round and still not be productive. Busyness without productivity only stresses us out. It only drains your strength, it only makes you tired because all your energy is dispersed instead of invested. In such moments, you cannot be accountable for what you did with your energy, time and resources. Accountability is one sign of growth and its important that we are growing. Growth is takes a conscious effort so, we must consciously and deliberately decide to grow and then work towards it.

The place of improvement comes after examination has been done. So, if, you didn't do so well, if you haven't grown well enough, it shouldn't make you quit or feel like you are not good enough. The exams show where you need to improve, they are not to condemn you. So, begin taking conscious steps towards improvement in those areas. You can be better!

I just want to talk to someone who has a  dream on their inside, someone who has a set goal that they want to achieve. I just want to talk to someone who has a picture of their desired future in their imagination. I just want to say, no matter what picture the now seems to be presenting, no matter how far fetched your future looks like, don't give up on your dreams, don't give up on you! Believe in you even when nobody else does. Be your biggest supporter!


The fact that you could dream it means that there's a part of you that finds it achievable, there's a part of you that thinks you can make it. Hold on to that part of you so that on days when it seems like there's no need to continue chasing your dreams, you draw strength from within you.
Let me tell you, by the way, its not going to be all smooth and cozy. There are days when you'll just want to give up and let go but don't! Don't give up on yourself. There's so much that you can be, there's so much that you can achieve but you'll never achieve anything if you give up.
It's not like I've arrived though but on my way here, there where times when it just didn't seem like there was any reason to continue, when it just seemed like starting was a mistake and seemed much more like, continuing would be a bigger mistake. I could have just succumbed to the pressure from within but what I did was, remind myself why I started off in the first place. I actually have posters on the wall of my room that remind me who I am and why I do what I do. These things just help keep me focused, they help keep me motivated to do more. You have to keep reminding yourself why you started. You have to continually fuel your passion. This is because the society will give more than enough reasons to quit, it will give more than enough points to prove that you are not good enough, it would want to convince you that your goals are just an illusion. That's why like I mentioned earlier, you must decide to draw strength from within you. You strength shouldn't be tied to what you see with your physical eyes because it may be that what the eyes of your mind see is different.
Finally in the words of one of my favourite singers, Sinach, "You ca be anything you want to be, you can achieve all your dreams if you only believe!" Just believe in you and hold on to your future! Don't allow anybody steal it from you. Don't tell me that you've nothing to work with in order to achieve your goals because you've got today! Take it, harness it, invest in it and create your desired future.

Did you ever sit to study and then catch yourself staring at the wall or maybe you were having a conversation with someone and then discover that although were sitting next to them, you didn't hear their last sentence? I don't like to believe that it's happened to just me. All too often recently, I've caught my mind wandering. The thing is that the thoughts that I was actually thinking about were not wrong in anyway, most times they were "seemingly" very constructive. Maybe like me you've found your mind wandering away from what it should be doing at the moment.

Most people may not see it as a bad habit but the truth is that it is. We have gotten so accustomed to it that we barely notice that it is a bad. One truth is that when we let our minds wander like that, it's really difficult to get things done and to get them done in time too. One thing that a wandering mind does to us that it makes us leave things half done and in such a way we are not productive. We always get to start things but we never the chance to finish them because by the time we are half way into them, our minds come up with some really "beautiful" idea.
