A Wandering Mind?

03:55

Did you ever sit to study and then catch yourself staring at the wall or maybe you were having a conversation with someone and then discover that although were sitting next to them, you didn't hear their last sentence? I don't like to believe that it's happened to just me. All too often recently, I've caught my mind wandering. The thing is that the thoughts that I was actually thinking about were not wrong in anyway, most times they were "seemingly" very constructive. Maybe like me you've found your mind wandering away from what it should be doing at the moment.

Most people may not see it as a bad habit but the truth is that it is. We have gotten so accustomed to it that we barely notice that it is a bad. One truth is that when we let our minds wander like that, it's really difficult to get things done and to get them done in time too. One thing that a wandering mind does to us that it makes us leave things half done and in such a way we are not productive. We always get to start things but we never the chance to finish them because by the time we are half way into them, our minds come up with some really "beautiful" idea.

I believe we want to produce results for every of our efforts; nobody starts a business with the aim of making losses, we want to make profit. To make profit, it's important that there's a maximal use of resources. It's also important that the resources are focused. If we are going to get the best out of our lives, if our lives are going to make profits, then we have to constructively focus our strengths and abilities. Just sitting back and allowing our minds wander is not being focused in any way, it's not being constructive.

Now you may be saying, 'You know I don't how it happens, my mind just keeps wandering off', hmmmmn! Imagine you had a little puppy that you actually loved. Lets imagine that you took walks with her every evening. Would you just let it wander off on its own? Would you let it stray away? Wouldn't you get a leash and control it? Then why would you just sit back and let your mind wander off the path. It may be true that your mind keeps wandering off but its also true that you have control over your mind. You can tell it where to go and when to go. It takes a deliberate and conscious effort and trust me it isn't always going to be easy.

Sometimes, it's going to be a real struggle but if you are willing enough to go through the battle and tame your mind, you'll reap the harvest of productivity.

Remember this, 'A wandering mind gets no work done'!
Be productive!!
